Treatment Programs

The Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation offers a variety of treatment programs and services to help inmates overcome addictions and achieve success after release.  

Substance Abuse Treatment:

  • KASHBOX – Residential Treatment (WCF): A therapeutic community for inmates that are assessed for residential substance abuse treatment with moderate / high risk for recidivism.
  • Ke Alaula: Breaking a New Dawn – Residential Treatment (WCCC): A therapeutic community for female inmates that assessed for residential substance abuse treatment based on traditional Hawaiian culture and values. Delivery of services provided by Hina Mauka.
  • Intensive Residential Treatment (Saguaro): A modified therapeutic community for inmates that are assessed for residential substance abuse treatment with moderate / high risk for recidivism.
  • Intensive Outpatient Treatment (KCF, WCF, WCCC, HCF): For inmates with moderate risk for recidivism. Delivery of services provided by facility substance abuse staff and/or Salvation Army.
  • Outpatient Treatment (HCF, WCF, KCF, KCCC, MCCC, WCCC, Saguaro): For inmates with low risk for recidivism. Delivery of services provided by facility substance abuse staff and/or Salvation Army.
  • Continuing Treatment Care (Statewide): Ongoing treatment care for inmates that successfully completed substance abuse treatment. Delivery of services provided by Salvation Army.
  • Alcoholics Anonymous – AA (HCF, HCCC, MCCC, KCCC): Volunteer-led AA meetings.
  • Narcotics Anonymous – NA (HCF, WCF, OCCC, WCCC, HCCC, MCCC, KCCC): Volunteer-led NA meetings.

Sex Offender Treatment:

  • Sex Offender Treatment (HCF, KCF, OCCC, HCCC, MCCC, KCCC, WCCC): For inmates convicted of a sex offense or inmates needing treatment as assessed and approved by staff.
