Education Programs
- Adult Basic Education/High School Equivalency Preparation — For inmates who do not have a high school diploma and need to study and prepare to strengthen basic academic skills to earn a high school diploma (HSD) or equivalent while incarcerated.
- GED and/or HiSET – HSE Prep and Testing — Testing for inmates to earn a high school diploma (HSD) equivalent.
- College Correspondence Courses — Correspondence classes offered in a wide variety of subject areas. Delivery of services provided by Rio Salado Community College.
Career Technical Training
- Food Safety & Certification — For inmates interested in the Food Service industry and may have had previous food service experience. Delivery of services provided by the Kapiolani Community College.
- Carpentry — For inmates interested in the construction industry and may have had previous carpentry experience. Upon completion of this apprenticeship, the inmate is automatically accepted into the union and is credited by hours completed.
- Plumbing — For inmates interested in the construction industry and may have had previous plumbing experience.
- Braille — For inmates interested in Braille certification upon release.
- Toastmasters — Develops, enhances, and improves communication skills through public speaking.
Substance Abuse Treatment
- Intensive Residential Treatment — For inmates with moderate risk for recidivism. Delivery of services provided by facility substance abuse staff and/or Salvation Army.
- Outpatient Treatment — For inmates with low risk for recidivism. Delivery of services provided by facility substance abuse staff and/or Salvation Army.
Family Re-Unification Programs
- Read-to-Me International — Inmates are re-connected with their children by choosing a children’s book to read aloud, recorded on CD, and the book/CD is mailed to the inmate’s family.
