OCCC Future Plans

render of new OCCC campus

The Oʻahu Community Correctional Center (OCCC) plays a critical role in Hawaii’s criminal justice system.

However, many of the buildings at OCCC are more than 50 years old including a portion that is over 110 years old.

The existing, antiquated design of the facility leads to unsafe conditions for both employees and those in our custody and care. This also impacts our ability to attract and retain adult corrections officers and other important positions.

Building a new facility is essential to helping individuals thrive.

We’ve had community discussions about a new OCCC for more than a decade. It’s time for us to act. Let’s work together and move forward together.
