Corrections Officer, Sheriff Deputies Participate in Shop With a Cop, Heroes and Helpers Day
HONOLULU – On December 13, six of our Oahu Community Correctional Center (OCCC) Adult Corrections Officers (ACO) and three Sheriff Deputies participated in the Honolulu Police Department’s Shop with a Cop, Heroes and Helpers Day at Target.
Fifty children from Waipahu and Halawa were given the opportunity to shop for a Christmas gift with a “helper”. Each child is given the opportunity to take a photo with Santa. They’re then given a $50 gift card. The “helper” assigned to them steps forward and the shopping begins.
ACOs Bryson Mactagone, Garrett (Kalei) Kawewehi, Kamuela Aiu, William Kaneakalau, Dereck (Duke) Gumpfer, and Darrell Wilcox all participated along with Sheriff Division Sgt. Bruce Yonesaki, Deputies Blaise Atabay and Justin Boswell .
We are very proud of them for stepping up to help with this worthwhile cause.
